Trish Harnetiaux is a playwright and director, filmmaker and podcast creator. Her narrative podcast, The MS Phoenix Rising, about the relaunch of the cruise ship industry, is available on Playwrights Horizons Soundstage. Current projects include her new play California (Clubbed Thumb commission) and Bender and Brian (no one asked her to write this) a subversive tale of Breakfast Club fan fiction. Published plays are available from Samuel French. She’s developed and presented work at Clubbed Thumb, Playwright’s Horizons, Soho Rep, Ars Nova, MTC, The Orchard Project, New Georges and more. 
 

In 2021, her short film (created with Steel Drum in Space) – You Wouldn't Understand – (director/co-writer/producer) was presented at the Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, she was an executive producer on the off-beat comedy series Driver Ed which premiered at 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. Recently, she completed a new short film – A Significant Problem (director/EP).

 

Harnetiaux has been in residency at MacDowell, Millay, SPACE at Ryder Farm and Yaddo. She was a member of Ars Nova Play Group, Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, an affiliate member of New Georges and received her MFA in playwriting from Brooklyn College. She teaches in the Queens University of Charlotte Low Residency M.F.A program.

She lives in Brooklyn and finally has south facing windows.
